Notion to Google Docs
Export your converted Notion pages directly to Google Docs with formatting intact.
Kami can export your converted Markdown directly into Google Docs, preserving headings, lists, tables, code blocks, and images. This page explains the export pipeline and how to get the best results.
Prerequisites
- A signed-in account with Google OAuth
- A completed conversion job (single HTML or ZIP archive)
- A paid plan (Pro or higher) — the Free plan does not include Google Docs export
Exporting a document
Convert your Notion export
Upload your HTML or ZIP file from the dashboard. Wait for the conversion to complete.
Click Export to Google Docs
On the job detail page, click Export to Google Docs. Kami requests access to create files in your Google Drive.
Wait for processing
The export worker converts each Markdown file to Google Docs format and uploads it to your Drive. Progress is shown in real time.
Open in Google Drive
Once complete, click the Open in Google Drive link to view your exported documents.
What gets exported
| Element | Google Docs result |
|---|---|
| Headings (H1-H3) | Native heading styles |
| Bold, italic, strikethrough | Formatted text |
| Bulleted & numbered lists | Native list formatting |
| Tables | Google Docs tables |
| Code blocks | Monospace-styled text |
| Images | Embedded images in document |
| Links | Clickable hyperlinks |
Folder structure
When exporting a ZIP workspace, Kami recreates the original Notion page hierarchy as a folder tree in your Drive:
Kami Export/
Getting Started.gdoc
Projects/
Project Alpha.gdoc
Project Beta.gdoc
_images/

diagram.png
Images are stored in a shared _images/ subfolder and linked from the documents.
Concurrent exports
Your plan determines how many export jobs can run at the same time:
| Plan | Concurrent exports |
|---|---|
| Pro | 1 |
| Business | 3 |
| Enterprise | 10 |
If all slots are occupied, new exports are queued until a running job finishes.
BYOK (Bring Your Own Keys)
Business and Enterprise plans can use their own Google OAuth credentials for exports. This is useful for organizations that need exports to appear under a specific service account or brand.
To configure BYOK, go to Dashboard → Settings → Google Credentials and enter your OAuth client ID and secret.
BYOK availability
BYOK is available on Business ($200/mo) and Enterprise plans only. Pro users use Kami's platform credentials.
Troubleshooting
Export stuck at "pending"
This usually means you have hit your concurrent export limit. Wait for a running export to complete, or cancel it from the dashboard.
Missing images
Images from Notion exports must be included in the ZIP archive. If you exported only an HTML file without images, they will appear as broken references in Google Docs.
Rate limits
Google Drive API has its own rate limits. Kami uses a token-bucket rate limiter (3 requests/second) to stay within Google's quotas. Large workspaces with hundreds of files may take a few minutes.
