Authentication
Sign in with Google to unlock conversion exports, API access, and workspace migration.
Kami uses Google OAuth for authentication. This gives you a seamless sign-in experience and enables direct Google Docs export without extra setup.
Signing in
Click Get Started on the home page or the Sign in button in the navigation bar. You will be redirected to Google's consent screen.
Authorize with Google
Choose your Google account and grant Kami permission to access your basic profile (name, email, avatar) and Google Drive file creation scope.
Redirect to dashboard
After authorization, you are redirected to your dashboard where you can upload files, view conversion history, and manage your account.
Permissions requested
| Scope | Purpose |
|---|---|
openid, profile, email | Basic sign-in and account creation |
drive.file | Create and manage files that Kami creates in your Google Drive (export feature) |
Minimal access
The drive.file scope only allows Kami to access files it creates. It cannot read, modify, or delete any other files in your Drive.
Sessions
Sessions are managed server-side and persisted in the database. Your session stays active until you explicitly sign out or it expires after 30 days of inactivity.
Anonymous access
You do not need an account to try Kami:
- The live demo works without signing in
- Anonymous single-file conversion is available (1 MB max, 3 per day per IP)
